MAMMOTH

Woolly Mammoths wandered our planet for over 600.000 years, until almost 10.000 years ago. The Mammoth populated an area from East Asia to Western Europe. These “Gentle Giants” stood at a shoulder height of 4,5 meters and moved 10 t live weight across the cold tundra steppe. The Mammoths last wedding was the most recent ice age, which began about 120.000 years ago. As a source of food and clothing they likely ensured the survival of the Homo Erectus and the Homo Sapiens. Man honored the mammoth with cave arts as early as 300.000 year ago, making these gentle giants deserving of a special place in the history of human kind.
